2025 in Review: A Year of Getting Out of the Way
Melrose's mission is to automate the CSR quote-to-cash experience for U.S. trucking carriers — modernizing a deeply manual function that sits at the center of a trillion-dollar freight economy.
Two years in, the thing we're proudest of is also the hardest thing to show off: a product that's meant to stay out of the way.
Freight operations don't need another dashboard to check or another tool to learn. They need the paperwork to move faster so people can get back to moving freight. So the goal for 2025 was never to put Melrose front and center. It was the opposite, to take the work that used to live in inboxes, PDFs, and brittle spreadsheets and quietly run it in the background.
Quoting, order entry, EDI integrations, and the custom workflows teams already rely on: still there, just no longer something a person has to sit and do by hand.
The simplest way to understand the year is to look at the work the platform absorbed.
Over the course of 2025:
- The volume flowing through Melrose grew more than 20x.
- We processed more delivery orders in a single month than in the entire first quarter combined
- TEU volume climbed right alongside it, closing the year at an all-time high.
To put that in freight terms: By year-end, Melrose was touching more than 1% of all container volume moving through the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles, the busiest gateway in the country.
Where this goes in 2026
We ended 2025 having deployed our agents into our operators daily workflows and have taken the first steps into the full truckload market.
The mission hasn't changed: Take the manual, quote-to-cash grind out of freight operations so the people doing it can focus on the freight. The best version of that is software you barely notice, running in the background, moving the paperwork, staying out of the way.
If you're running freight operations and want to talk about what automation looks like once it's actually live in the real world, reach out. We'd love to compare notes.
